Every
year in the first weekend of August it takes place a non
competitive race of 104 km walking, cycling and riding in
a small village called Calcena and its surroundings in North
Spain. What is now a sport or recreation decades behind
it was a necessity due to the lack of transportand good
communications.
In the past decades the immigration to the cities has produced
the almost total abandon of the area, these days another
race takes place too: Bring people back before the village
is totally abandoned.
